Photograph Descriptions

ClothesLine Photo

This photograph shows a lady on a ladder hanging up her clothes on a clothes line, but the clothes line is a telephone wire and the ladder is being held up by the wires. From the left to the right you can see how far her clothes go down the clothes line. This is a realism inspired photo because it shows an scene that could possibly happen but would be dangerous and not very likely. The viewers attention is drawn to the lady on the ladder, that is the focal point. After you see the lady on the ladder your eyes move around and realize the events that are happening and that the lady is leaning up against a set of electrical wires. It seems to me that this photo was meant to have an element of humor in the sense that it is a scene that has a possibility of happening but most likely will not.

Glass Lake

This an image of a man in a canoe who is coming in off of a lake and looking down. On the water it looks as if it is a broken mirror, the water is shown as broken glass. In the front of the photo that is where the water looks as if it is broken glass and further back it goes on looking as a lake would be expected to look. The glass is reflective just as water would be if it where in place of the broken glass on shore. This image looks realistic but as you look closer and see the water is actually broken glass in the foreground it is seen as a scene that could not actually happen.

Fish Lake

This is an image of a fish underwater with the above water view in focus as well its split down the middle. This is a composite image since the fish could not actually be this size in real life, it takes up the whole underwater portion of the photograph. Above the fish on top of the water, there is an island connected to the fish with rocks and structures on it. The fish is the main focus of the image and it takes up a large portion of the photograph.

Frozen Fish

In this image it all looks fully realistic at the start but as your eyes move around the rest of the screen observing what else is taking place you see in the sled the man is pulling fish that are frozen in blocks of ice. It looks like the man just went and cut these fish out of the frozen lake he is walking on with the chain saw that he is carrying. This is a scenario that could possibly happen but is very unrealistic even though there is nothing in the scene that portrays it that way. In the background you can see that the sun is about to set or pop up over the horizon. The climate of this image looks cold because of the frozen over lake and the clothes that the man is wearing. There is a chance that this scenario could happen it is just unlikely.

Two Doors

This photograph takes place in a remote mountainous area with hills in the background, however in the foreground there is two doors with a man walking out of one and into the other. The doors are both producing light coming from whatever is inside of them. This is not a realistic scenario since the doors come from nowhere and lead to nowhere. The background image is a darker setting possibly before sunrise and the man in the foreground walking from door to door is dressed in a night gown and slippers, he is holding a coffee cup so it could possibly be taking place in the morning showing how the man feels waking up leaving one door and going into the next to start his day.

Drop in the Trail

The scene in this image is a man who had been biking along a trail and at a certain point in the trail there was a drop off. The drop off is still apart of the trail however it is completely and the man could not go down it on his bike. The man in the image is looking over the drop off down to what is below, which is just a continuation of the trail. The man looking over looks confused on what to do and scared about how he is going to get down to the bottom of the drop off. This image is not realistic in the sense that if a cliff where to fall the trail would not be in a straight line going downwards.

Self Painting

This image has a main as the main focus, the man is painting and as you look deeper into it the man is finishing painting the scene that he is in the entire scene is not complete. The top of the man is not fully painted and because of that the realistic factor is taken away. The bottom portion of the image is completed and the top mainly where the easel the man is painting no is not finished yet. There is still enough detail in the image that shows the man and what his intentions are letting you picture how the finished piece will look. The man is finishing painting the entire view that he is painting and at the same time looking over and through.
